Pain.

It is a pain.

Sometimes I think GOD has a major reason for allowing us to feel pain, whether physically or spiritually.  And sometimes I wish HE would just let us know the reason so we can get to it, understand, do our part in the acceptance and learning, and move on.

But usually, HE doesn't.

I threw my back out getting out of bed this past Monday.  It still hurts, but now I can move.  Slowly.  And I can take a deep breath without wanting to pass out or throw up from the pain.

My heart is tired as I am going on year #6 of desert walking.  And just when I think I can handle this, it just gets harder.  Desert walking stinks.

There are sermons that are meant just for me, and they are like some one threw  crutches my way that allow me to walk a little further down this path.  Yes, people say Christianity is a crutch.  I totally agree.  We are all crawling around in the mud called this world.  We are all called to be dependent on HIM.  We can't do it alone.  I 'own' my crutches.  With them I can stand, and move and hope.  I can't stand very tall or not very proud.  But they help me get me out of the mud pit.

Pain.  I wish we didn't have to have it, but can you imagine living without it??!  That would truly be a nightmare.

On another note, we went to visit my daughter and son in law this weekend.  We had no grand plans like we usually do, just to see them with our own eyes.  :D

And the 2 youngest members of this family got haircuts down there.

Josiah did Samuel's.

He has been begging for a crew cut for months.  I refused because he skis too much and it gets cold.

So it went from this:

To this:

Here she is...

And of course, this was the best:

Next time we see this child of ours, she will either be getting ready to have the baby the next day, or we will hold that baby on our arms.

God is good.

Love the haircuts!!

And I'm so very sorry you are in such pain. That stinks! But I love your attitude, friend. God never wastes a single ounce of our difficulty.

Your pregnant daughter looks adorable! I'm soooo excited for you guys!

I am sorry for your pain ... physical and spiritual. I know pain is necessary. I know it is for our own good. I know God allows it and then comforts us in it. But I don't like it either and knowing all that does not make it any easier to handle.

On a happier note. Love the haircuts. And love the baby bump. It's getting here!!

Like when Paul tried to pray away the thorn in his flesh, God answered with "My grace is sufficient for you" so is His grace still sufficient for us today. Praying for you. One day at a time...

In John 16 Jesus spoke to his disciples of the hardships they would face in life.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you."

The pain and sorrows we suffer are for the trying of our faith. It is that faith that moves the kingdom, and that moves its King.

James 1 says, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."

Each days pain brings a new opportunity to increase the bounds of our faith in Him. Take courage in how Jesus closed his conversation with the disciples in John 16...

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer I have overcome the world."
