~ was terribly disappointed about missing the recital.

~ went to the park instead.

~ went to Friday's.

~ watched Wipeout with my 11 year old, and was exhausted just watching these people torture themselves.

~ had a water fight with the hose with my children, instead of watering the garden.

Fly away!

I can't believe how fast the weeks seems to fly!!

I can't believe my daughter's 1 year anniversary is just around the corner!

I can't believe Elly was placed in our arms almost 6 months ago!

I can't believe how much I have NOT accomplished yet!!

But life indeed flies by, and I need to love every minute of it. Good, bad, ugly, sad.

Elly got this thing for John for Father's Day. They are enjoying it, and Samuel is pretty good at it. Elly gets to stand super close. :) But for some reason, they won't let me do that.

And she is one social butterfly. She loves to smile and laugh. Don't get me wrong, she is still as stubborn as all get out, but when she isn't being stubborn, she is a delight!

Speaking of flying...

My son left yesterday for Israel. He will be gone for almost 2 weeks. And how does a 24 year old pack for 2 weeks?

A carry on and a backpack. Words escape me.

Wesley of course packed the same way. lol.

My word of advice to these two as they are trying not to jump out of their skin with excitement??

Don't get arrested.

And speaking of flying..

I definitely DID NOT fly home from JFK. In fact, I took a wrong turn and instead of getting home in about an hour and 20 minutes, I saw this:

That wrong turn, took me into NYC. During rush hour. With Elly & Samuel in the car. And Elly had to 'powder her nose.'

So 3 hours later, I got home. But it was a good time to pray for them and their trip.

And so in the end, it all worked out, and it reminded me that God is good.

All the time. Even when it flies by.

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Oh, children are so sweet.

And they smell pretty good, too.

Most of the time.

And the things they say....

While putting her to bed tonight:

Momma, I am 3.

I know honey, you are 3. How old is Samuel?

Samuel is 4.

Oh really?

Yes, and momma is 5.

:)

How old is sister?

Sister is 5, too.

:)

How about brother?

Brother is 6.

lol :)

And how about Daddy, Elly. How old is Daddy.

Daddy is 11.

:)

Good night, my child.

Good night, momma.

~ went to the mall.

~ didn't find anything for my dad at the mall.

~ went to Rita's for the first time this year.

Life, it is still beautiful.

2 months ago yesterday, I talked about him, and how he will be missed. He is.

This morning, at 4:46, his wife passed away.

She was my mother's best friend. My mom held her hand as she took her last breath. She promised Mrs. G that she would.

And she did.

It is so sad. It is so hard.

They have been a part of all our lives.

So many memories. Like the time my daughter was 3 and we went to a 4th of July party at their house. Mrs G and my mom were talking together and we were still pretty far from them, then my mom went someplace else. Chloe was still in the process of running up to her Nana and mistook Mrs G for her, up until the last second. Yes they even started to look alike.

They have been closer then sisters for 40 years. They have had their fights, they have had their laughter, they have had their joys, triumphs and hopes together. They were family when family failed them.

My mom will suffer the most.

And I hurt for her, for I know how hard it will be.

Life is beautiful.

So hold on to your family. Hold on to your dear friends.

And cling to GOD, HIMSELF, for in HIM there is life.

Time after Time

We had our promotion ceremony last night. I don't get it, but it's fun to see everyone and socialize.

Anyway, Samuel & Rachel have known each other since prebirth. And they have grown up together, and been good friends and fierce competitors. They are 2 months apart, Samuel being older. But sometimes I wonder if it is not years, emotionally & maturity-wise. With Rachel winning that 'race'.

Last night.

As you can see, she just has no patience with him and his...ways. She keeps trying, but alas, she usually gives up at one point. And believe it or not, he looked very nice when we left the house.

5 years ago in Kindergarten.

I have a picture of them every year during this ceremony. :)

Life is good. :)

Greek Festival

Why does one go to a Greek Festival when one is not a spit of Greek??

THE FOOD.

Duh.

Everything else is pretty cool, too...but the food...makes one wish they were Greek.

True story.

And so, after watching the greek dancers and not moving a muscle in amazement, our daughter decided to get out of her stroller because it was her turn to show them how it is done.

So here is our Chinese daughter, who is being raised 1/2 hispanic & 1/2 irish, Greek dancing. ( Live music, and she had been dancing for a while, so she was getting tired. )

And just to show you how far she has come with her CP, when we first got her in January, she could hardly even walk without falling all the time and with serious help. Now we have a Greek dancer on our hands. lol. God is good. :)

Look Who Discovered Lipstick

I went to the bathroom, and I didn't even finish closing the door when an Elly-bug started knocking and asking me what I was doing.

Welcome to 3 year old-hood.

And then it got quiet REAL fast.

Someone found my make up case, which by regular standards is a joke. It has 3 lipsticks and some cream.

And look who found the lipstick.

Memorial Day weekend-ing

We had a picnic. It was a college graduation celebration for our son. Except I forgot to take a picture of him. :p

I mean, I have one, but you can hardly see his face.

Bummer.

But we have other pictures!!! And here they are! In no particular order because I am too tired to fix it.

(click picture to see bigger)
Elly swinging on the tire swing with her pink balloon. She is in love, and pink balloons are her first true love. Well, maybe second after her daddy.

A serious game of wiffle ball was afoot. Evidently, it was intense.

The Deluxe Peanut Gallery, on the trampoline.

My almost 45 year old husband with our 22 year old nephew, trying to compete for the ' I am way cooler then you" award. Duh

John pulled out his shuttlecock hacky sack from China, and they tried to play. He was quite frustrated that he couldn't do it like the little old chinese ladies at the park. They made it look easy and they were so graceful. Graceful is not the word I would have used watching these guys!1 lol.

And look who came from Va Beach for the weekend!!! yAy!!

At the diner, because it is Jersey.

At South Street Seaport the next day after church. :)

Sisters... together again.

Picking the first mulberries of the season! Yum.

Wading the water in Clinton. Elly's first time and she loved it.

And last but not least, Elly got a lesson in bowing and saying thank you. From her ballet dancing sister.

And so, thank you for reading. :)
